“I believe that positive, peaceful parenting is possible for everyone.”
~ Sylvia The Parentologist
We’re not taught to be parents. No two children are the same. It’s easy to think we’re bad parents when everybody else seems to be coping…
Most parents are now juggling a career and family. The pressure is stifling and it’s so easy to feel guilty when you really want to feel a special bond with your child. You’re not alone. Most parents need help. Their emotions can swing from joy and all-consuming love to frustration… Happiness to despair… Then isolation that nobody else feels the same… It’s not true. Every parent at some point, feels overwhelmed but they want to just DO THEIR BEST… It’s not easy. Children are individuals – there are no manuals that can help every situation and for every child.
With over 23 years’ experience as a nursery leader, parentologist and early years consultant, I help nursery owners and nursery practitioners, in London Boroughs such as Redbridge and Newham, to enable children to reach their full potential within a stimulating and safe environment. I also help parents to feel more confident with strategies that can help the bond between parent and child within a loving home and relationship.
Being a parent is one of the most rewarding jobs in the world. Parents need to enjoy the experience, understand the hurdles and how to overcome so the family are united and living within a strong partnership bound by love and respect.
“What it’s like to be a parent: It’s one of the hardest things you’ll ever do but in exchange
it teaches you the meaning of unconditional love.”
~ Nicholas Sparks

Take Kathryn for example. She’s 28, and has a 2 ½ year old child who goes to nursery full time, while she works as a project manager. Kathryn wants to have more children, but at the same time, wants to further her career.
She’s trying to juggle parenthood and her working life, and is being pulled in so many directions. And as for a social life, or quality time with her partner (who she’s getting married to later in the year), that definitely takes a back seat. As does the gym and time to get her nails done (what did she do with all that time before her daughter arrived?!). She’s constantly in a state of overwhelm, and her sleep is interrupted by her child and also stress, so she feels as though she’s always playing catch-up and never performing to the best of her ability.
Balancing all the aspects of her life is increasingly seeming more impossible, and she feels that something needs to give – at the moment it feels like her sanity!
Parents usually come to her when they are at the end of their tether and don’t know who to turn to for help as each stage of their child’s development brings new challenges and behaviours to deal with.
Maybe you’re reading this because you’re at that point too… or maybe you can sense this is just around the corner. Sylvia’s been helping parents across East London to create calmer, happier, peaceful homes for over 21 years, and she can help you too. So if you want to feel like you’ve got control back, be more confident that you’re running the house and not your child, and finally get some time back to yourself without feeling guilty, then Sylvia can help you achieve all of that. If you are based in any of these areas; Newham, Redbridge, Wathamstow, Hackney, Shorditch or nearby, give Sylvia a call on 07958 296 718.
